I was cycling through the city when a spot caught my eye. Just a simple place: green surfaces, a white stripe cutting through – nothing spectacular, but something about it worked. The colors, the contrast – they spoke to me, so I stopped and unpacked the camera.
When I looked closer, I noticed an old car tucked in the corner. Ukrainian, I think – I’m not sure of the model, but it definitely has charm. A trace of something else, something that doesn’t quite belong but somehow fits.
That’s what I love about street photography: everyday things that take on a different weight when you really look at them. Through the viewfinder, they become something else. I shot a few frames and let the atmosphere guide me.
It doesn’t always need to be the grand gesture or the obvious subject. Sometimes it’s the small corner where something unexpected shows up. If you’re out there with your eyes open, the best images are waiting in the places you’d never think to look.
